Homework

Learning at Home

At Croxby, we aim to provide the children with the skills to become self-regulated and resourceful learners. To encourage this further, we have some suggestions to how you can help us at home.

Weekly Homework Expectations

Reading
EYFS and KS1 children are allocated reading books on Bug Club, which link to their phonic stage of learning. These should be read at least 3 times a week and the green bug comprehension questions attempted. These will be changed on a weekly basis. In addition to this, story time at home with a favourite book, which you can talk about, would also be a benefit and be something to enjoy together.

In KS2, children are expected to complete at least three Reading Plus reading assignments a week at home. These will be in addition to Reading Plus sessions within school. (Find out more about Reading Plus in the English and Maths section of the website.) In addition to this, children can also enjoy reading any book for pleasure. You can find online books to read on the websites below. Your children are also welcome to borrow books from our library or classroom library.  (Reading Plus site code is rpcroxb1)
