Remote Education

In exceptional circumstances, in the event a child is unable to attend school, we follow the DfE’s guidance on providing remote education.

Remote education should only ever be considered as a last resort where a decision has already been made that attendance at school is not possible, but students are able to continue learning.

Attendance is essential for pupils to get the most out of their school experience, including for their attainment, well-being, and wider life chances.

Remote education should not be viewed as an equal alternative to attendance in school. It is considered as a last resort when the alternative would be no education, and only after it has been established that students will be absent from school. In such cases, remote education can have the benefit of allowing absent pupils to keep on track with their education and stay connected to their teachers and peers.

Circumstances where it might not be possible for pupils to receive in-person education fit into 2 broad categories:

  • School closures or restrictions on attendance, where school access for pupils is restricted

  • Individual cases where a pupil is unable to attend school but is able to learn

Providing remote education: guidance for schools - GOV.UK

We use the Teams platform to provide the learning for your child to complete. The learning will be closely aligned to the learning that is or should be happening in school. Your child's class teacher will provide feedback on your child's learning and any messages should be passed on via the office email from yourselves.

If your child needs a device or internet access, the school will support in accessing what is required.
