The Careers Mark recognises schools that provide meaningful opportunities for learners to develop aspirations, understand the world of work, and begin exploring their future pathways. At Croxby, we believe it is never too early for children to discover their strengths, interests, and the possibilities ahead of them.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our learners, and the valuable support of our wider community and partners. We are extremely proud of this recognition and look forward to continuing to build a careers' curriculum that empowers every child to aim high and believe in their potential.

As part of this commitment, we are proud to have two fully qualified and licensed Thrive Practitioners – Mrs Neighbour and Mrs O'Connor. Having successfully completed their training, they are already implementing Thrive strategies across the school, supported by recent whole-staff training. Embedding the Thrive Approach is central to helping our pupils build the emotional resilience and confidence they need to succeed.

To further enhance our provision, we have been investing in our sensory room, which features fibre optic tails, a bubble lamp, and sensory lighting to create a calming and supportive environment for pupils who may benefit from sensory regulation. Our Wellbeing Hub, an outdoor area designed for quieter and calmer lunchtimes, offers activities such as colouring, drawing, and Lego, providing pupils with a relaxed space to recharge. In addition, our ELSA room offers a cosy and welcoming setting, equipped with sensory resources and calming displays. Here, children can access tailored support from Mrs O’Connor to meet a wide range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This marks the beginning of an important journey. In the coming months, we will continue to embed the Thrive Approach across the school as we work towards achieving the Excellence in Thrive Award. This prestigious recognition reflects our commitment to creating an environment where every child feels valued, understood, and supported.
