Curriculum Enrichments

Children take part in a variety of curriculum enrichments including both cycle training and pedestrian training provided by Road Safety Officers from the Local Authority as well as a ten week course of swimming lessons during Key Stage 2.

Residential Visits

Our children have the opportunity to visit an outdoor adventure centre. The educational priorities throughout the packed three days are teamwork, outdoor and physical education and co-operative achievement.

Educational Visits

During the year many groups of children are involved in educational visits some to places of interest in our area, and some to further afield such as Magna, Jorvik Viking Centre, Sewerby Hall and the East Coast.

PE and Sport

At Croxby we believe that PE and Sport play a vital role in our children's education. PE prepares children to be physically and mentally fit and healthy for life. We take sport very seriously; not simply because we produce some of the highest performing academy teams and players in the area but because sport will develop social, emotional and intellectual skills.

Music

Music provides a valuable creative opportunity and we aim for every child from Year 3 upwards to learn to play a musical instrument. Music tuition is available through the East Riding Music Service and all children are invited to join our choir.

Musical Theatre

We deliver musical theatre lessons culminating in performances to our children's families.

Productions

We host two major productions every year. Foundation and Key Stage 1 perform a Christmas and Nativity production. Key Stage 2 performs a full production of a classic such as Joseph or The Wizard of Oz, which are spectacular showcases of our children's talents.
