Development Priorities

  1. To increase the capacity and effectiveness of the leadership and management of learning at all levels.

 

  1. To continue to improve the teaching and assessment to ensure all pupils reach their learning potential in all subjects, especially in Maths. With a specific focus on pupil premium and higher ability pupils.

To accelerate progress and raise standards in Reading for all pupils – particularly increasing the percentage of pupil premium and boys achieving the national standard; and to increase the percentage of middle ability and higher ability pupils achieving greater depth. Focusing on being able to make inferences and justify them with evidence from the text (Curriculum Area 2d).

To accelerate progress and raise standards in Writing for all pupils – particularly increasing the percentage of pupil premium, boys, lower ability and middle ability pupils achieving the national standard and to increase the percentage of boys and middle ability pupils achieving greater depth.

To accelerate progress and raise standards in Maths for all pupils – particularly increasing the percentage of pupil premium, lower ability and middle ability pupils achieving the national standard and to increase the percentage of middle ability and higher ability pupils achieving greater depth.

 

  1. To accelerate progress and raise standards in Writing, Reading and Maths for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

 

  1. In Early Years – To improve outcomes in writing, through a specific focus on boys within the moving and handling stand to ensure they handle pencils effectively to form letters
